The History Museum & The National Gallery of Armenia

 


The History Museum and the National Gallery of Armenia are located in the same building together making up a museum complex.

The History Museum of Armenia was established in 1919 and has been open to visitors since 1921. It is a  large historic and cultural scientific research center.
 



The richest collection of exhibits(400.000 names) is kept at the Armenian National Museum.

A number of archeological finds that comprise the majority museum's exhibits can be seen, such as national costumes, ancient coins, archived documents, and photographs among others.

The National Gallery of Armenia was considered one of the best in the former USSR. More than 20.000 exhibits, including works of Armenian, Russian, and Western European masters, sketches, sculptures, and handicrafts from Western Europe and the East can be seen.



The collection of historic Armenian art is the largest in the world.
